A monumental tasting of 350 wines from Western Australia is being staged in Sydney on Tuesday 17 June for wine industry professionals.

The massive wine list showcases 39 different varieties from 50 iconic and emerging wineriesof six wine regions: Margaret River, Great Southern, Swan Valley, Geographe, Pembertonand Blackwood Valley.

Over 20 winemakers will be present at the tasting, along with several winery owners.

Masterclasses, curated and hosted by Erin Larkin (Robert Parker Wine Advocate), will explore trailblazing wines, cultural icons, classical benchmarks and emerging styles that are at the forefront of what’s next for wine in Australia.

“Our wineries have been trailblazers since 1829 when Australia’s second oldest wine region, the Swan Valley was planted. The quality and winemaking creativity coming from Western Australia’s wine regions has never been greater,” said Wines of Western Australia CEO Larry Jorgensen.

“Our industry’s artisan nature and magnificent seclusion makes this a well-kept secret, and we’re thrilled to bring more wine lovers into the fold, starting with this trade event in Sydney,” Larry continued.

“Producers are crafting styles that can be fresh and expressive from 2 months to 20+ years. Classic wine varietals are being reimagined, while there are more than 40 different grape varieties planted. Everything about what the producers are doing is exhilarating.”

The 350+ wine list features Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Grenache, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo, plus 20 different alternative white and red grape varietals.

Everyone in the wine industry is invited to register for a place to attend this once-in-a-lifetime, complimentary tasting.
