Independent Liquor Group (ILG) has marked a significant milestone with the sod-turning of its new distribution centre in Swanbank, Queensland.

The purpose-built facility, spanning 30,846sqm, will be located in the Swanbank Business Park, strategically positioned near Ipswich and Brisbane. Once completed, the site will feature a custom-designed warehouse, dock office, material handling equipment (MHE) charging zone, and temperature-controlled zones – enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening ILG’s growing operations across Queensland.

In tandem with the new distribution centre, ILG recently announced it has expanded its B2B marketplace platform, Liquorstop Warehouse, to Queensland following a successful rollout in New South Wales. The platform offers more than 6,000 products, providing licensed venues – including bottle shops, bars, restaurants, and cafes – with better access to competitive pricing and a wide product range.

“Running a liquor business comes with its challenges, and we’re here to make it easier,” said ILG CEO Paul Esposito. “Our platform is built for all liquor license holders by a team who has an extensive understanding of the industry, offering a seamless way to access wide product range, competitive pricing, delivery options and buying opportunities – just a genuine support to help businesses in these difficult times.”

As Australia’s largest member-owned liquor cooperative, ILG says these investments reflect its continued commitment to supporting local communities and delivering sustainable value to members.

Damien Bottero, Chairman, ILG

“Investing in regions we serve and jobs for those who live throughout those regions is at the heart of what we do,” said ILG Chairman Damien Bottero.

The Swanbank DC project is expected to generate new employment opportunities and bolster economic activity in the surrounding areas, aligning with ILG’s mission to empower regional communities.

ILG has acknowledged the efforts of its project partners in bringing the development to life, including builder CIP Constructions, land developer EMKC3, and project management firm TMX Transform.

“Exciting times ahead for our members, our team, and the Queensland community,” the cooperative stated.

Construction is now underway, with the site poised to become a key hub in ILG’s national logistics network.
