ILG’s 50th anniversary celebrations continued in Barcelona this week, where Study Tour delegates have enjoyed a balance of cultural exploration, authentic experiences, and time to connect with fellow members and suppliers.

Day three offered free time for delegates to explore the city at their own pace or join guided tours of the Gothic Quarter and the Picasso Museum. The evening brought everyone together for a memorable dinner at Can Travi Nou – an atmospheric 17th-century Catalan farmhouse in Horta-Guinardó – where traditional Spanish cuisine and a shared spirit of camaraderie made it a memorable evening.

Day four took the group beyond Barcelona to Montserrat, one of Catalonia’s most revered pilgrimage sites and home to the famed Black Madonna. Delegates visited the Santa Maria de Montserrat Monastery, before enjoying a scenic ride on the mountain railway.

In the afternoon, the Study Tour continued in the Penedès wine region, where ILG members toured Codorníu, Spain’s oldest winery, and its 33km of underground cellars. A cava tasting showcased the region’s world-renowned sparkling wines, followed by a long lunch outdoors at Torre de Codorníu.

Now in Lisbon, the group has begun the second stage of the anniversary journey. National Liquor News will continue you to bring you updates from the ILG Study Tour throughout the week, and you can take a look at the highlights from days three and four in the gallery below.
