The Liquor Stores Association WA (LSA WA) held its 30th annual WA Liquor Industry Awards in Perth on Friday night, crowning Con’s Liquor in Geraldton as the WA Liquor Store of the Year.

The LSA WA said the awards recognise excellence and achievement across Western Australia’s packaged liquor industry.

Liquor Stores Association WA CEO Peter Peck said the 30th anniversary of the awards marked a milestone moment for the industry.

“This year marks three decades of recognising the passion, hard work and resilience that define our members,” he said.

“Every finalist and winner represents the best of small business and community spirit in Western Australia’s retail liquor sector.”

As well as taking out the overall WA Liquor Store of the Year title, Con’s Liquor was named Regional Liquor Store of the Year, with the LSA WA highlighting its outstanding service, community engagement and contribution to the industry.

De Vine Cellars Inglewood received the Metropolitan Liquor Store of the Year award for its commitment to quality and customer experience in the Perth area.

The Life Member Award was presented to Lou Spagnolo, the longest-serving President of the Liquor Stores Association of WA, in recognition of his long-standing leadership and advocacy for the sector.

The Community Service Award went to WA Police for its innovative approach to online retail theft reporting, which has strengthened collaboration with the liquor industry and enhanced community safety.

Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia congratulated all winners and finalists, noting their contribution to local employment and their commitment to maintaining safe and responsible retail practices.

“These stores are more than just places to buy a bottle of wine or beer — they’re part of our local fabric, employing locals and giving back to their communities,” he said.

Around 300 guests attended this year’s event, which celebrated both the industry’s achievements and its long-standing contribution to Western Australian communities.
