Paramount Retail has opened the doors to its first fully-rebuilt liquor store, Bottle Stop Newport, marking a significant milestone in the group’s ambitious dual-banner growth strategy.

Strategically located within close proximity to Newport station in Victoria, the store has undergone a complete transformation, setting a new benchmark for the group’s growing portfolio of physical stores.

Bottle Stop is Paramount Retail’s convenience-led offering, and the new Newport store reflects the groups ambition to create modern, community-first liquor stores with a focus on pricing, convenience and a tech-forward shopping experience.

Leigh Rowe, CEO of Paramount Retail, says: “Newport marks a pivotal moment for us. This is more than just a renovation – it’s a showcase of what our retail future looks like. We’ve built this store with the community in mind: sharp prices, smart design, and a welcoming experience that locals have already embraced.”

Since 2024, when Paramount Retail announced the acquisition of BoozeBud and Barrel & Batch and a new store rollout strategy, Bottle Stop has cemented its physical presence with stores now operating in Monbulk, Kyneton, Little Bay and Patterson Lakes. New sites are scheduled to open in Valentine, Bourke Street (Melbourne) and Boronia.

Paramount Retail’s strategic acquisitions also extend to Barrel & Batch, the group’s premium destination experience specialising in high-end wines, exclusive whisk(e)ys and super-premium spirits. Barrel & Batch has expanded its NSW footprint with stores in Alexandria, Marrickville, St Peters, Paddington and Darlinghurst, with openings planned for Malvern and Hawthorn in Victoria.

Rowe says the business is on track to open 100 stores nationally by 2028 in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

“We’re actively building a next-generation liquor retail network, and we’re just getting started. For store owners considering a sale, we’re ready to move quickly and invest in transforming more locations into best-in-class retail experiences,” Rowe explained.

Paramount Retail will celebrate the launch of Bottle Stop Newport with a grand opening day on Saturday 31 May, including opening specials, a free sausage sizzle and wine tastings.

“We invite everyone – locals and industry friends alike – to come celebrate with us,” Rowe said. “The Newport store is just the beginning of a retail journey that’s focused on customers, powered by tech, and driven by growth,” Rowe concluded.
