Australian wine brand 19 Crimes is set to take over Fitzroy’s The Shady Lady this Friday and Saturday, launching the Possessed Wine Bar where the bar will feature exactly as the name suggests; actual possessed items.
The bar celebrates the launch of new limited-edition wines from 19 Crimes, including a Shiraz and Hard Chard, with labels that glow-in-the-dark, and guests will also be able to sample three specially-crafted cocktails including:
- The Frankenstein
- Vlad’s Revenge
- A Spirit Spritze
Within the bar, guests can view the possessed items through a curated, immersive, museum-like experience – each item will be displayed in a perspex box with an accompanying plaque detailing their background story.
19 Crimes spokesperson Nick Powell said the event encourages people to embrace their curious dark side and have a night of fun in the lead up to Halloween – the fastest growing event on the retail calendar.
“With 21 per cent of Australians planning to hold or attend adult Halloween parties, it is case in point that the spooky season is no longer just about trick-or-treating, now more than ever before, adults are embracing the nostalgia and horror themes with their friends instead.
“19 Crimes has long been a rebellious brand, so we’ve welcomed the chance to break the rules and create a bar that truly brings our ethos to life. The Possessed Wine Bar has the perfect amount of fright and delight that will keep people coming back for more – and to top it off, cocktails, wine and entertainment,” Nick said.
The bar will also feature tarot card readers, unnerving decorations, and themed DJs will be adding to the mood, along with ouija boards on every table to ensure the immersive experience creeps into every corner of the bar.
The Possessed Wine Bar is a walk-in-only event, open from 6pm to 1am on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October.
