Cider Australia has announced that the 2021 Australian Cider Awards is now open for entries.

After last year’s awards were postponed, the 10th Cider Awards will go ahead for the first time in two years. Judging will be held in Melbourne in January of 2022, and the awards opened for entries on November 9.

President of Cider Australia and the Chair of the Awards organising team, Warwick Billings, said: “We are glad we hung in there and the show is finally going to happen as it will bring a lot of festive spirit to the Australian cider community.”

“The team has been ready and preparing for the Awards despite Covid-19, and the window of opportunity is now here,” Billings added.

The organising team is expecting a record number of entries to what is Australia’s largest ‘blind’ cider tasting. This year’s awards contains 29 categories, including ‘Herbs/Spices’, a new awards class making its debut at the 2021 show.

Low and no-alcohol products (NOLO) will also be able to enter for the first time, in a move that recognises the expansion of the NOLO category in recent years.

Registrations can be made through myaca.rasv.com.au and close on December 3 2021.
