Global leader in the Rosé category, Mateus has announced it is joining the Oatley Fine Wine Merchants portfolio effective from March 1.
João Gomes da Silva, of Portuguese parent company Sogrape, said the company was thrilled to be joining the Oatley portfolio.
“To McWilliam’s Wines, our former partner in the market, I would like to express our gratitude for their professionalism and dedication to the brand for over 20 years,” he said.
KPMG Administrators this week appointed Colliers International to sell the business and assets of McWilliam’s Wines Group by an expressions of interest campaign.
Oatley chairman Sandy Oatley said Mateus provides further opportunity for the distributor to build retail and on-premise sales.
“The Rosé category is in strong growth and the Mateus wines will be pivotal in how we support our customers with their Rosé offering,” he said.
