Mountain Goat's special edition 'Rare Breed' India Pale Ale has become a year-round, permanent addition to the brewer's range.

The IPA will be sold in 330ml stubbies grouped together in a four-pack. It sits alongside the Hightale Ale and the Steam Ale in Mountain Goat's permanent range.

At 6.2 per cent ABV and 65 IBU (international bitterness units), the Mountain Goat IPA is one of the country's more "aggressive" IPAs, co-founder Dave Bonighton told TheShout.

"On the scale of domestically available IPAs, it's probably one of the more bold ones," he said.

"It became the most successful Rare Breed by quite a way, so it just put its hand up to be promoted."
