Melbourne craft brewery Hawthorn has released a new Golden Ale in packaged format ahead of a likely expansion into draught.
Hawthorn Golden Ale (4.5 per cent ABV) is a "full-flavoured and easy drinking" ale that brings to five the number of permanent beers in the brewer's range.
"Our carefully selected German malts, including Vienna and Caramel give the beer its sparkling golden appearance," the brewer said.
"Generously hopped, but mild on the bitterness, the use of three different hops from the USA, UK and Australia impart a highly refreshing passionfruit and tropical fruit character."
Hawthorn Brewing Company has been expanding its presence over the last few months with the appointment of Andrew Martin as sales manager for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.
The Golden Ale is distributed nationally through BWS and selected independent retailers.
