Australian Beer Company has signed a three-year deal to have Yenda as the official beer of the 2016 Australian PGA Championship and Pressman’s as the official cider.

Australian Beer Company, PGA Australia and RACV Royal Pines toast the Yenda partnership

The agreement will see both brands have exclusive pourage rights and course signage at this year’s Australian PGA Championship, which is being held at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, from 1-4 December.

“There’s nothing better after a round of golf than a delicious, refreshing beer at the 19th hole. It’s woven into the fabric of Australian culture and we are proud to be part of this,” said Sally Byrne, who signed the partnership on behalf of Australian Beer Company.

Brian Thorburn, CEO of the PGA of Australia, added: “The Australian PGA Championship is a celebration of golf and we are proud to partner with Yenda, a local beer, to add to the festival feel of the tournament.

“While we will be watching to see who collects the Joe Kirkwood Cup, Yenda and Pressman’s have already collected some silverware of their own. They’re clearly talented up-and-coming Aussies and we’re delighted to welcome them to our team.”

Yenda launched in 2014 and is currently available in six different styles including craft lager, pale ale and IPA. Yenda Hell is a finalist in the Australian Craft Beer category at this year’s Australian Liquor Industry Awards, while the overall Yenda brand is a finalist in the Best Marketed Beer or Cider category.
