Sydney will host Whisky Live for the first time later this month (August) with the global event now in its ninth year.
Whisky Live is an annual whisky tasting and sampling event that has so far ventured to 15 countries around the world and been hosted by, amongst others London, Tokyo, Paris and Glasgow.
Sydney will host the event from Monday August 31 through to Sunday September 6 and offer something for both the enthusiast and the novice alike.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Whisky Live to Australia for the first time,” Whisky Live director, Ken Bromfield, said. “This international event will be showcasing more than 120 whiskies from all over the world.”
The main event, Whisky Live Expo, offers the opportunity to sample the greatest whiskies in the world, some rare and most sought after, whilst mingling with the producers and distillers under one roof.
New releases, great classics and limited editions will all be on offer with organisers claiming that 70 percent of them will be new to the Australian market.
Whiskies on offer will include Scotch whiskies Glenfiddich, Laphroaig, Tantallan, Glenfarclas; Australian Whiskies Sullivans Cove, Lark, Hellyers Road, Limeburners as well as Amrut from India; Hudson and Makers Mark from US; Clontarf and Celtic Crossing from Ireland; Penderyn and Merlin Cream from Wales and many more.
The Whisky Live Expo will run from Friday September 4 to Sunday September 6.
