Tasmanian whisky distilleries Sullivans Cove, Lark, Hellyers Road and Overeem have designed a special stand made out of Tasmanian Oak to jointly present their whiskies in bars.

A total of 30 stands were made and rolled out across Hobart's top bars in recent weeks, Sullivans Cove's Bert Cason told TheShout.

"Support for the stand from local bars has been so overwhelming that another 50 have ordered to cover the remainder of Hobart as well as the north of the state. Sydney and Melbourne will be covered later this year," he said.

"This greater presence behind the bar will convert into greater on-premise sales [and] better brand recognition of Tasmanian single malt."

Bars that have already supported the initiative include MONA's Void bar, Jack Greene, Barcelona, Westend Pumphouse, New Sydney Hotel and The Brunswick Hotel.
