Women in ICT (WIC) and Underground Spirits have teamed up to create a ‘conscious gin’ which will donate proceeds to support a number of initiatives.
With each bottle of the gin sold, $20 will go towards the WIC’s work advocating for women in tech across all stages of their career lifecycle, through various events and awards.
Underground Spirits CEO Claudia Roughley hopes the Canberra gin will spark discussions around women in male-dominated industries.
“Distilling is an ancient craft, a science, traditionally done by men,” Roughley said.
“Just like the tech space is filled with talented and game-changing women, we also want to break down stereotypes and show women are leading the way in the distilling industry.”
WIC President Tara Searle said technology is what brings all people together.
“We want all women to see themselves in digital and STEM, whether they are a web developer, digital marketer or small business owner,” Searle said.
“This collaboration embodies the supportive spirit of women and the level of greatness we can achieve when we team up.”
WIC Gin will retail for $95 per bottle and is 40 per cent ABV.
Featuring a vibrant pink label, its tasting notes are fruity and zesty with hints of strawberry and native apricot.
