Australian independent brewing company Tribe Breweries has announced it is no longer in administration as it welcomes a new major shareholder, the Elise Cameron Foundation (ECF). The announcement comes alongside the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Heath Baker.
Tribe Breweries, founded in 2012 to support independent craft brewers across Australia, entered voluntary administration in February 2023. With the support of ECF, a charitable trust based in Tasmania, the brewery was able to exit administration in late May.
Baker, who joined the Tribe Breweries team earlier this year, will oversee day-to-day operations of the organisation as it transitions out of administration and resumes its innovative projects at the 30-million litre capacity brewery.
CEO Heath Baker said: “The completion of the administration process marks a fresh start for Tribe Breweries. We are extremely proud that despite this challenge, we maintained supply to all of our customers throughout the process and now with the business on renewed footing, this enables us to provide more certainty for our employees, customers and suppliers.”
“We are excited to be able to refocus on our long-term growth and efficiency plans and move forward with our team, suppliers and customers from our Goulburn Brewery.”
Baker brings a wealth of knowledge from his 25 years of corporate drinks and brewery experience, having worked for major brands such as Coca Cola. Following the financial restructuring and committed new ownership of the brewery, it will focus on a new path for its collective of award-winning brands, including Stockade, Mornington Peninsula Brewery and Wilde Gluten Free.
Tribe Breweries operates within Australia’s largest and most sophisticated craft beverage production facility, boasting a state-of-the-art brewery and packaging and beverage processing technology for cans, bottles, and kegs. The brewery will continue to focus on creativity, innovation and supporting the local Goulburn community through partner brewing.
