A limited number of tickets are still available to the Royal Melbourne Wine Show Trophy Winners Lunch, taking place next Friday (Oct 22) at Flemington.
Hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) and the Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA), the the lunch is set to celebrate the prestigious Royal Melbourne Wine Show in style with an outstanding menu matched to a selection of the trophy-winning wines from this year’s show.
"Since the demise of the Victorian Wine Press Club a decade ago, we have had several different formats for the awards presentation," said chairman of the Royal Melbourne Wine Show, Stephen Shelmerdine.
"We are delighted to be able to partner with WCA to ensure the Royal Melbourne Wine Show trophy celebration is one not to be missed on the industry calendar.”
WCA president, Rob Hirst, said the WCA was looking forward to reviving the traditional luncheon event.
"We are delighted to be able to work with the RASV and to replicate the type of awards ceremony we have delivered in Sydney, which has become a landmark event for the industry.”
The winners of the four major trophies of the 2010 Royal Melbourne Wine Show, including the winner of the coveted 2010 Jimmy Watson Trophy, will be announced at a gala dinner next Thursday evening.
Tickets to the Royal Melbourne Wine Show Trophy Winners Lunch cost $150 for WCA members and $190 for non-members.
Tickets include entry to the exhibitors tasting, taking place the morning of the lunch.
