Tasmania’s Three Cut Gin (TCG) has successfully debuted across several American states including New York, Texas, Nevada as well as California, the home of TCG founder Justin Turner.

Turner spent most of his early years on his family-owned vineyard in California, before moving to New York and establishing himself in finance.

The American-born entrepreneur developed the TCG after meeting his Tasmanian partner, saying he wanted to create a product that captured the essence of Tasmania.

“We’ve worked hard to capture the unique taste of Tasmania in a tipple. Starting from the purity of its waters, the delicate scent of roses and a fresh citrus to create an epicurean delight worthy of its name”, said Turner.

Situated in the Tamar Valley at Turner Stillhouse and established in 2018, the gin’s name derives from “three cuts of rose” added during the steeping distillation process.

TCG has previously won Best Gin in Australia at the Australian Gin Awards and numerous gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards. After over 40 local and international awards, Turner said TCG’s success in the US is thanks to the gin’s flavour profile, which appeals to the American pallet.

“We’re so proud to see the positive response that U.S. consumers already have to out premium range of Tasmanian gins,” said Turner. “We’re adding new customers each month and have recently appointed a third-party sales team to cover the West Coast, east Coast and Houston markets.”

Turner also said that an Export Development Grant via Austrade has helped TCG with access to the American market, and that he plans to expand the TCG spirit range with products such as vodka and the brand’s first whisky, which is set to launch in 2025.
