According to the latest Australian liquor volume sales data from Circana Carlton Dry 3.5% is now the number one new beer in the country.

With more and more Australians looking to moderate their alcohol consumption, without sacrificing social occasions, Carlton Dry 3.5% has won over consumers since its launch earlier this year.

Ben Eyles, Head of Beer at Carlton & United Breweries, said: “We’re thrilled to see how quickly Australians have embraced Carlton Dry 3.5%. This success highlights the growing demand for beer that fits a variety of occasions.

“We knew we had something special with this beer, and seeing it become the number one selling new beer in the country is incredibly rewarding.”

The beer was launched March this year, in a 30-block can format, with the 24-pack of stubbies following in March. Lower carb and mid-strength beer are more popular than ever and Carlton Dry 3.5% contains fewer than 100 calories per serve and has 40 per cent fewer carbs than Carlton Mid.

Eyles added: “At Asahi Beverages, we’re committed to offering consumers more choices to moderate their alcohol consumption. More than 30 per cent of our beer sales come from no, low, and mid-strength beers, with our Great Northern Super Crisp the biggest selling Australian beer. Carlton Dry 3.5% is a terrific addition to that portfolio.”
