Sister title to The Shout, Bars & Clubs has been a part of Australia’s bar scene for over 30 years, but just like venues sometimes need a refurb, the title has re-launched with a new look and a new name – Bars & Cocktails – Spirits & Distilling.
When Bars and Clubs launched over 30 years ago, the club scene was very different to what it is now, and in Australia the name ‘clubs’ in the hospitality industry has become more linked to RSLs and league clubs. So we felt it was time for a change.
With the change in name, it was logical to update the website, and offer something more contemporary, cleaner and more reflective of Australia’s dynamic bar and cocktail industry.
The team said: “It’s an evolution rather than a revolution, and we’ll still bring you all the latest bar news, interviews with bar professionals, cocktail recipes, and operations advice you’ve come to expect from Bars&Clubs.
“But we’re also adding a specific focus on spirits brands and the art of distillation.
“In recent years everyone working in Australia’s hospitality industry will have noticed the exciting growth the country’s spirits and distilling industry has enjoyed. And while we have Bars and Cocktails for the bar industry, Australia Hotelier for pubs, Beer & Brewer, Club Management, National Liquor News for liquor retail and The Shout for all aspects of the industry, there isn’t a trade media title for Australia’s spirits industry.
“Spirits & Distilling fixes that hole, and allows us to focus on everything related to Australia’s spirits and distilling industry, bringing news, features, interviews and more from those people and brands that make the industry as exciting and dynamic as it is.
“Of course, it should go without saying, we’ll continue to publish great content about beers, wines and other products and equipment relevant to running awesome bars in Australia.
“We are really excited about the new look, new name and new spirits focus for Bars & Cocktails – Spirits & Distilling and we hope you love it too.
