At this year’s 17th annual SIP Awards, a number of Australian brands have been honoured as some of the world’s best spirits and mixers.

Awards were given across multiple tiers in the tasting division including Platinum, Double Gold, Gold and Silver medals.

Additional distinctions such as the Best of Class and Innovation Awards were handed out, with a total of 292 brands globally earning the prestigious Consumers’ Choice Award, recognising those that achieved medal-winning status for two consecutive years.

Australian Distilling Co, Archie Rose and Mr. Consistent all took home Best of Class awards at this year’s competition, up against a diverse and dynamic range of global entries, underscoring the innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship of Australian products.

For the third time, Australian Distilling Co. has been awarded Best of Class Platinum – Gin. Each year a different gin from the brand has secured the top spot, and this year its Fremantle Gin won the major award.

The brand was also awarded Double Gold for its debut whisky, a Gold for its Darwin Craft Gin and a Silver for its Blood Orange Gin.

Founder of Australian Distilling Co. Michael Hickinbotham said he and the team are thrilled by the wins.

“It’s a privilege to receive this recognition for our Australian crafted spirits, endorsing our commitment to producing premium products of the highest standards.

“We’re also excited that our Single Malt Whisky has been highly rated by consumers in its very first batch. Only very limited bottles of the award-winning [whisky] now remain available.”

He added: “The SIP Awards are judged by consumers, representing top international honours from an audience that matters most to us – people who drink gin.”

Archie Rose won Best of Class Platinum – Australian/New Zealand for its Rye Malt Whisky in addition to receiving three Gold and one Silver medal. The Sydney distillery also secured an Innovation Award for its Heritage Red Gum Cask Single Malt Whisky.

Speaking to The Shout, Founder of Archie Rose, Will Edwards, noted the significance of being awarded as some of the best by consumers.

“We’re incredibly proud to have the Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky awarded Best in Class at the SIP Awards, along with Gold Medals for our Single Malt Whisky, Heritage Red Gum Cask Single Malt Whisky, and our Double Malt Whisky. As a consumer voted award program, we’re always stoked to see spirits fans vote our Australian whiskies and gins as some of the best in the world.”

Mr. Consistent took home Best of Class Platinum – Margarita Mixer for its Chilli Margarita and Best of Class Platinum – Other Cocktail Mixer for its Hemingway Daiquiri. The brand dominated the Other Cocktail Mixer category scoring another two Platinum, one Double Gold, three Gold and one Silver award.

Kahrissa Bell, Chief Brand Officer at Mr. Consistent told The Shout the team are incredibly proud to be honoured once again this year.

“For the third year in a row, Mr. Consistent has been acknowledged with multiple tasting awards, including two Best in Class – Platinum awards. To have the hard work of the team recognised is such a huge feat. The confirmation that we are creating world class cocktails really makes the continuous dedication even more rewarding,” she said.
