Beresford Wines has unveiled the latest wine in its multi-regional program, the 2024 Emblem Pinot Noir made with fruit from Kuitpo and Aldgate Estate Block in the Adelaide Hills.

The multi-regional program has a focus on freshness, structure and purity of fruit, and this wine is described as a “vibrant, food-friendly take” on Pinot Noir.

Chad Smith, winemaker at Beresford Estate, said: “There’s a real clarity to this wine. It’s light on its feet, but carries intense flavour and length. We wanted to create something that feels considered but unpretentious, you can pair it with food or pouring a glass on a Sunday afternoon.”

Beresford Wines said the Emblem Pinot Noir highlights the influence of high-altitude viticulture, showing bright acidity, fine tannins, and lifted aromatics.

The wine is described as having a medium ruby colour and layered red-fruit character, with notes of wild berries, herbs, and dried rose. Beresford attributes these to its site-specific approach and minimal-intervention winemaking.

With a medium body and balanced structure, the wine is suited to a range of food pairings and can be enjoyed year-round, whether lightly chilled in warmer months or decanted for greater depth during winter.

Tasting notes describe a nose with “floral notes of rose petals and dried lavender, with hints of forest floor, crushed herbs and a touch of spice from seasoned French oak”. Followed by a palate of “bright cranberry, sour cherry, and pomegranate, underpinned by bright acidity and a long finish”.

The 2024 Emblem Pinot Noir is available now for independent retailers with a 12 per cent ABV and $35 RRP.
