Queensland’s American whiskey lovers have the opportunity to sip, sample and explore a range of hard-to-find whiskies thanks to a series of events organised by ‘Cheers! Spirits from the USA’.
To celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month, Cheers! Spirits from the USE has partnered with Carman Hartwich – Australia’s only Master of Bourbon, who is also up for Best Brand Ambassador at this year Australian Liquor Industry Awards.
The partnership will see bars in Brisbane showcase the incredible craftsmanship and flavour profiles of American Bourbon and other US whiskey styles.
While Australia is the second-largest importer of American whiskey globally, many Aussies remain unfamiliar with the nuances that differentiate Bourbon from Rye, or Tennessee Whiskey from American Single Malts. That’s where Bourbon Heritage Month comes in – a time to shine a spotlight on the diversity, history, and bold character of American whiskey.
Joel Matticks from the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S (DISCUS), which, along with the US Department of Agriculture, supports the ‘Cheers! Spirits from the USA’ campaign in Australia said: “Bourbon Heritage Month is a time to honour this unique spirit. We’re thrilled to bring the celebration to Brisbane, a city that’s rapidly becoming a community of whiskey lovers, connoisseurs, and curious newcomers alike, and offer the chance to sample and purchase hard-to-find bottlings.”
