The iconic Dee Why Hotel reopened yesterday (Aug 12) after a three year hiatus.

Located on Sydney’s northern beaches, the Dee Why Hotel has been reborn as a vibrant, welcoming bar, whilst maintaining the authenticity of the venue’s rich heritage.

Originally opened in the 1920s, the Bayfield family took the reigns in 1977 and transformed the hotel into a destination bar venue.

The new-look hotel will focus on delivering an exciting bar experience, impressive brasserie menu, late trading and a live music element with intimate performances by musicians from Sydney’s live circuit and bars.

Bayfield Hotel Group, group marketing manager, Cameron Bayfield, told TheShout that last night’s reopening was well-received by the industry and locals alike.

“The night was a huge success with the hotel getting going early with a strong dinner crowd, followed up by a buzzy bar long into the night,” he said.

The hotel forms part of the Dee Why Grand mixed-use redevelopment complex that includes 161 residential apartments, 6000sqm of commercial space and Dee Why Grand shopping centre featuring Coles, Harris Farm Markets, Bayfields Liquor Superstore and more than 30 specialty stores.

“We have invested heavily into the redesign of the hotel and have employed SJB interiors to deliver a venue uniquely Dee Why and will truly reflect northern beaches culture,” said Bayfield Hotel group director, Mark Bayfield.

The Bayfield Hotel Group also owns Newport Arms Hotel, Caringbah Hotel, three Bayfields Liquor Superstores (Belrose, Caringbah and Dee Why), Newport Mirage Hotel, Terrace on Pittwater restaurant and the Belrose Hotel.
