New Zealand craft beer Monteith’s celebrated its 140th anniversary last week with a huge celebration at its South Island brewery.

Employees, guests and members of the community joined the event at the Greymouth operation, where the brewhouse was converted into a party space complete with dance floor.

Revellers on the night enjoyed the specially brewed 140 Pale Ale, which was created for the occasion in honour of the style of beer that was popular in the 1800s.

The night also allowed guests to enjoy the full range of Monteith’s beers, which comprises the Golden Lager, Original Ale, Celtic Red Beer, Black Beer, Pilsener and Radler.

Monteith’s is part of DB Breweries and distributed in Australia through DrinkWorks, which also has Tui and Tiger in its portfolio.

The brewery has a long and proud history with the South Island of New Zealand, and the anniversary party provided an opportunity to celebrate its heritage and place in the community.
