The Urban Purveyor Group is starting a program of rapid expansion over the next two months with five new venues opening in Sydney and a further four new venues in Melbourne.
The Group will bring three restaurants to Westfield Sydney: Fratelli Fresh, Fratelli Famous pizzeria and one of three Saké Jr. restaurants that will open in Sydney and Melbourne in August.
Also opening in Sydney’s World Square will be a second Fratelli Famous pizzeria and The Bavarian, described as “a fast-casual, counter service version of the Bavarian Bier Café that will offer a range of classic dishes, burgers, fresh pretzels, hot dogs and salads, as well as over 40 German and Australian beers, including a formidable craft selection.”
Urban Purveyor Group CEO Thomas Pash said August will mark an important milestone for the group, with all the new outlets opening, including three exciting, fast-casual, counter service venues and another full-service Fratelli Fresh.
“We’re really looking forward to launching Fratelli Famous, Saké Jr and The Bavarian, which have been many months in the planning,” Mr Pash said. “Expanding in the fast-casual space via our already much-loved Fratelli Fresh and Saké restaurants and our popular Bavarian Bier Cafés and bringing new, highly-scalable offshoots of these to the restaurant sector is a strategic imperative for the business as we look to double in size over the next two years.”
In addition to its expansion in Sydney, Urban Purveyor Group will open four new venues in Melbourne over coming months. The Cut and a new Fratelli Fresh will move into The Alfred at 7 Alfred place by the end of July. A Saké Jr. will open at 555 Bourke Street, and another at St Collins Lane shopping centre, in August.
A spokesperson for UPG told TheShout that the group is in expansion mode and that there will be "more to come by the end of the year".
