Sport+ , a new innovation from Gold Coast based technology company Flexicast, has been launched to make sports betting more exciting and appealing to punters. The product is a fast growing set of visually attractive sports odds pages designed to educate and entertain patrons and sit alongside other screens in licensed venues.
Sports betting turnover in Australia has doubled in just five years and its share of the overall gambling industry is growing at an annual rate 24 times that of horse racing.
Flexicast managing director Andy Leake says Sport+ adds a level of excitement to information that is traditionally staid and one dimensional and appeals to a generational shift towards a younger audience.
“Unless you’re a keen sports punter you probably don’t pay much attention to conventional sports betting screens as they are mostly generic and uninspiring,” Mr Leake says.
“Sport+ presents information in a team-versus-team or player-versus-player layout, enriched with team colours and statistics about previous clashes, which combine to stir loyalties, providing a far more engaging experience.”
Sport+ is live betting enabled which means all channels will switch to and focus on any existing live matches for "In the Run" betting.
“Picture your hotel on a Friday night, the footy’s on the big screen, the good natured rivalry has kicked into gear and the adversarial team-versus-team format of Sport+ is tapping into that mix of entertainment and emotion,” Mr Leake says..
“Sport+ screens are perfectly suited to sit alongside live sports vision, enhancing the overall experience.”
Pages showing NRL including finals, Rugby World Cup and the English Premier League Soccer are all available now with cricket and American sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) coming soon.
Flexicast is looking to bring other sports such as AFL, V8 Supercars, Super 15 Rugby, tennis, golf and many more to the Sport+ platform in the near future, with the long-term goal to cover all sports where betting is offered.
Sport+ is currently offering a three month free trial if taken up before the end of October to venues with existing Flexicast hardware.
Flexicast offers a range of content products for clubs, pubs, TABs and sports bars.
There are over 300 channels available through Flexicast, and like Sport+, many specialty betting displays such as Formulator, Sectional Dollars, Seizmo and Graphic Shortener have all been created to meet market demand.
Flexicast was established in 1996 to provide a range of low cost data and digital display subscriptions for ratings, live odds displays and digital signage solutions to TAB outlets and licensed venues around Australia.
