Australia’s first no-carb beer took to the skies in July as the boutique choice for V Australia’s International Business Class Guests on its flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Los Angeles.

Bighead is described as a full-flavoured, full-strength (4.2% alcohol) lager that is a hundred percent natural, free of additives and preservatives, and has a smooth, clean taste.

V Australia’s executive general manager, Scott Swift, said the beer was a perfect addition to V Australia’s executive style product offering.

“Given the Virgin Blue Group originated in Queensland we are excited to be serving a very Australian and locally brewed beer on our flights,” he said. “We particularly like Bighead as it’s a high quality product, innovative and fun, and something completely original.”

Swift added that the airline had received positive feedback on the brand from guests who are able to enjoy their beer from the comfort of their seats or in-flight sit down bar.

Bighead is the brainchild of Burleigh Brewing Company, an independent craft brewery based in Burleigh Heads on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The beer will feature on V Australia’s business class menu until September 30.
