Following on from its success with the recent VB ad campaign, ad agency Droga5 has picked up the advertising accounts for two more of Carlton and United Breweries’ (CUB) top-selling beers.

From this month (Aug), they will be looking after Crown and Cascade, in addition to the iconic VB.

The decision to move the beers from ad agency Clemenger BBDO, who has held the accounts since April 2007, was part of a bigger plan which has seen CUB move to a two agency model.

Clemenger BBDO will continue to look after other CUB brands including Carlton, Pure Blonde, Matilda Bay and Strongbow.

CUB Marketing Director Peter Sinclair said that it ‘made sense’ to move its biggest brands to the same company.

“Since we appointed Clemenger they’ve grown the number of CUB brands they represent and their knowledge of our business continues to impress,” he said. “Our decision to award Crown and Cascade to Droga5 recognises the outstanding work they have done on VB, which includes their latest campaign ‘The Regulars’."

The VB campaign was launched last month to coincide with The Ashes. Filmed in Ballarat, the ad poked fun at a range of archetypical Australian males such as “blokes who punch above their weight” and men who “claim to have punched a shark”.
