The Marlborough based winemakers were awarded the Kemenys Perpetual Trophy for the Best Value Dry White Table Wine of the Competition for their Yealands Estate Land Made Pinot Gris 2014; the same trophy they won last year for the previous vintage of the Yealands Estate Land Made Pinot Gris.

The Sydney International Wine Competition is renowned for choosing wines that enhance the dining experience and aim to expand the repertoire of choice for consumers making wine selections. The rigorous judging process means that award-winning wines are each judged three times and alongside food.

Yealands Family Wines Chief Winemaker, Tamra Kelly-Washington, was absolutely delighted with the result. “It’s a fantastic trophy to win, and to get back to back trophies for the same wine in one of the most highly contested categories is a real achievement. Not only has this wine been recognisedjohn as being the highest quality, it’s incredibly versatile with food, while also hitting the mark on value.” says Mrs Kelly-Washington.

This award was hot on the heels of Yealands Wine Group being named as New Zealand Wine Producer of the Year at the International Wine and Spirits Competition* (IWSC).
The family-owned company collected an outstanding 37 medals, including a gold medal for the Yealands Estate Winemaker’s Reserve Gibbston Pinot Noir 2013 and three silver outstanding medals.
