Closely monitored by the Bolivian Government and escorted by armed guards to Amsterdam, Agwa de Bolivia is now on the run and giving you a chance to capture the essence of this spirit.
Southtrade is inviting bartenders around the country to join the cast of The Bolivian Job, a blockbuster signature cocktail competition that could earn the winner a cash reward of up to $2,000.
To enter, bartenders just need to create an Agwa cocktail that can take the starring role and upload a picture of it to the competition website.
The cocktail can be from any genre such as classic, contemporary, pre-dinner, after-dinner or a long drink but must include 30ml of Agwa as the base ingredient.
"The Bolivian Job is a cocktail competition with a difference, designed to get bartenders thinking of different ways to utilize Agwa in their bars,” Southtrade brand manager, Blake Vanderfield Kramer, said.
“We all know it is versatile and mixes well in short and long drinks, but it works really well as a base cocktail ingredient too. We want to see what cocktails the trade can come up with and then support them to push the cocktails they created at their venues".
Entries will be judged on their presentation, the use of Agwa de Bolivia as a product, the cocktail’s balance and overall taste.
The bartender from each state with the best cocktail will win $500 for themselves and $250 for their bar, and then go on to the state finals where the overall winner will win $2,000.
The three bartenders with the highest scoring Agwa cocktail in each state will also have their cocktails published in bars&clubs Signature Cocktails Magazine.
