The ten NSW State finalists for the Angostura Cocktail Challenge have been announced by island2island.
The finalists are Kat Ford from The Hilton’s Glass Bar, Tim Greening from Felix, Ben McFarlane from Rockpool Bar & Grill, Kevin Peters from Perisher Valley Hotel, Taka Shino from Concrete Blonde, Jessica Arnott from The Victoria Room, Ben Blair from The Corner House, Neilson Braid from Rockpool Bar & Grill, Michele De Martino from The Red Door and Sebastien Derbomez from Hemmesphere.
The NSW State finals on August 22nd at La Bodeguita Del Medio, with the winner earning one of six spots in the National Finals to be held later this year at Crown Casino in Melbourne.
For the contest the ten finalists will be required to create two original drinks, one that contains Angostura Rum and at least five dashes of Angostura Bitters, as well as producing their own individual take on a lemon, lime and bitters drink.
The VIC State finals will be held on August 29th at Melbourne’s Byblos Bar & Restaurant, while the WA State finals will be run on September 5th at the recently opened Malt Supper Club in Perth.
The SA State finals will be happening on September 19th at Adelaide’s Union Hotel and the QLD State finals will be held at Brisbane’s Byblos Bar & Restaurant on September 26th.
