The annual Independent Liquor Group (ILG) conference finished up in Cape Town, South Africa this week.
Delegates spent their last days in Cape Town exploring the Stellenbosch wine region, which included tastings at Van Ryn's Brandy Distillery, Stellenbrau Microbrewery and Blaauwklippen Wine Estate.
The final night saw delegates gather at the Castle of Good Hope for a gala dinner where they enjoyed all the colours and flavour of Africa.
CEO Allen De Costa (pictured with Treasury Wine Estates key account manager Kylie Farquhar) told TheShout the group returns to Australia on a high note.
"Coming on these trips really teaches us to work on our business instead of in our business," he said.
ILG's general manager for trading, Peter Hampson, was equally pleased with the outcome of this year's conference.
"We all had a fantastic time in Zambia and Cape Town, we did some great activities that were only rivalled by the great company. I think people got a lot out of the business sessions, they were very informative and all our presenters did a great job," said Hampson.
A full wrap up of the 2014 ILG conference will appear in the November edition of National Liquor News.
