A shooting in a Perth nightclub over the weekend has led to a 31-year-old man being charged with Unlawful Act with Intent to Harm and Possess Unlicensed Firearm.

Joondalup Detectives detained the man after shots were fired outside a Joondalup nightclub.

The incident occurred just after 1:00am Sunday morning (October 5) when the man was ejected by security staff from the club following a minor altercation inside. The man then took a .25 calibre pistol that he was concealing in his pants and fired three shots toward the front of the club.

The nightclub manager and another man were struck by debris in the stomach. They did not require medical attention.

Security staff chased after the man and apprehended him a short distance away before taking him to Joondalup Police Station.

The man appeared in a bedside hearing at a Perth hospital after being treated for injuries he sustained while being apprehended.
