Police are appealing for public assistance following the attempted armed robbery of a hotel in Baulkham Hills in the early hours of Sunday morning (Feb 6).
At about 3.40am, six employees of the hotel on Windsor Road were seated in the beer garden when three men in balaclavas approached them with two handguns and a rifle.
The men allegedly forced the employees to the loading dock while the manager, who was still inside the hotel, triggered the alarm.
The offenders fled towards the rear car park.
The men were wearing grey sloppy joes with hoods, dark track pants and black gloves.
They are described as having Middle Eastern accents, and being 160 to 165 cm tall with thin builds.
In other police news, a teenager has been charged in relation to an armed robbery at a hotel in Enfield last year.
Police from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit (MRU) arrested the 16-year-old male at his home in Campsie on Friday.
It will be alleged that the teenager was one of three people involved in the robbery on the September 29, 2010.
The teenager’s co-accused, two adult males, were both arrested and charged in relation to the matter in 2010.
During the incident, hotel staff and patrons were confronted with a double-barrel shotgun and tyre iron while cash was stolen from the registers.
The MRU made the arrest as part of Strike Force Plummer, an ongoing investigation into a series of offences upon licensed premises and bottle shops in the Sydney metropolitan area.
