Prominent Australian wine industry figure, Lisa McGuigan, has left McGuigan Wines, where she was the key player behind the rise of the Tempus Two brand, to take up a position at Poole’s Rock.
As general manager sales and marketing, McGuigan will be responsible for the strategic global sales development of all three brands in the Poole’s Rock Wines portfolio – the Poole’s Rock flagship brand, the popular Cockfighter’s Ghost range, and the Firestick label.
Poole’s Rock Wines is a Hunter Valley family enterprise founded in 1988 by businessman David Clarke.
“I have always admired Lisa’s energy and capacity to evolve new wine markets and build brand recognition,” said Clarke. “To have her as part of the Poole’s Rock team will undoubtedly contribute to the company’s strategic expansion.”
McGuigan’s 13-year wine career has spanned a variety of projects across all sectors of the industry, ranging from on-premise and wine retailing, to brand creation and business management.
“The opportunity to grow the worldwide sales of the three Poole’s Rock Wines brand portfolios is both a challenge and a privilege, as is the chance to participate in another dynamic family-run wine company,” said McGuigan.
She began her new role this week and will be based at the company’s Sydney office in Pyrmont.
