Canberra’s Jeir Creek Wines will launch its Let’s Talk series — a unique, hands-on approach to wine education — this Saturday (Feb 21) with Let’s Talk Verjuice.

The Jeir Creek Let’s Talk series will focus on a different aspect of winemaking each month and will be held at the cellar door in Murrumbateman from 2:30pm. The free series is open to those interested in wine or winemaking and will be followed by a tasting.

The winery has completed its first Verjuice — an often misunderstood bi-product of winemaking made from under-ripe grapes.

Made from Chardonnay grapes, the Jeir Creek Verjuice displays a lemon fruit flavour and can be used for deglazing or as an alternative in salad dressings.

Located 30 minutes drive from the centre of Canberra, the Jeir Creek Winery will hold the Let’s Talk series on the third Saturday of every month, with upcoming talks to include Methode Champenoise, Pinot and Harvest.
