Laneway, Adelaide’s first permanent container bar located in the CBD at 121 Hindley Street, is set to open stage three of its reconstruction, The Third, as an outdoor venue in September. Major changes to the outdoor venue include an extra level and dance floor.
Venue Managers Karah Castellan of The Third and Jarrad Boman of Season II are excited about the renovations.
“Stage one of the new level, overlooking Hindley Street, is complete making us well underway to give our guests a new experience just in time for the warmer months,” Castellan said.
“We have also decided to include…new artistic murals and graffiti pieces done by local, up-and-coming artists to reflect the local feel and philosophy [that] Laneway is all about.”
Of the forthcoming opening of The Third – named simply in recognition of the venue’s third year of operation – Castellan says guests can expect: “a revitalised drinks menu consisting of some of the best cocktails from around the world, as well as the return of our popular fresh juices”.
Another new instalment to Laneway is a floating Canary Island Pine bench top in the upper container, which boasts a mirror-like epoxy glass finish to complement the varnished timber floors.
And while the venue boasts plenty of changes, all the favourites will remain: “We haven’t gotten rid of our famous toasties with garlic aioli sauce – the perfect late night snack!”
Laneway closes each winter for renovations to reopen in Spring under a new name.
Laneway Season II is a finalist in the South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence for ‘Best New Small Bar’. The winner will be announced next Monday August 4.
