The Australian Liquor Stores Association has revealed that Layne Beachley AO, will address the Australian Retail Drinks Conference in Canberra in August.
Beachley is widely regarded as the most successful female surfer in history and is the only surfer, male or female, to win six consecutive world titles. She has been appointed as Surfing Australia’s new Chairperson and is the first former female World Champion of any sport to take on the role in a National Sporting organisation. ALSA said that her exploits are astounding, her attitude unwavering and her achievements inspirational.
“ALSA is delighted that Layne has agreed to attend the conference for a keynote address on the opening morning of the conference on Wednesday August 16th, said ALSA CEO Terry Mott.
Targeted at retail liquor store owners and operators, the conference business sessions are this year programmed into Wednesday & Thursday, with registration on Tuesday 15 August.
Earlier this month TheShout revealed the ALSA Conference would have a new look and new format, with the changes coming as a result of feedback from delegates.
As well as two days of business sessions that will discuss the challenges and opportunities currently facing Australia’s liquor retail sector, delegates will also receive a ticket to the inaugural Alcohol Beverages Australia event, the Celebration of Industry Dinner, which will take place in the Great Hall of Parliament House, on Tuesday 15 August.
