Campari Australia and Aperol has announced a partnership with Tennis Australia to become the official aperitif and official spirit of the 2017 Australian Open.
Campari will create a specially-designed bar and surrounds to introduce Club Aperol to Australian Open attendees. The partnership aims to deliver widespread brand exposure for Aperol and its signature drink, the Aperol Spritz.
Speaking about the partnership, Campari Australia’s Managing Director, David Halliday, said: We are delighted to be partnering with Tennis Australia. The Australian Open is the one of the most watched tennis events in the world and one of the country’s social events par excellence, whilst Aperol is a brand that also embodies freshness, celebration and sociability.
“The fit between the two brands makes this a natural partnership that we are sure will bring continued success to both parties. In addition to deep brand exposure and consumer engagement benefits, the partnership will provide our trade and sales teams with excellent opportunities to support market penetration and growth of Aperol and the Aperol Spritz in Australia.”
Tennis Australia’s Director, Commercial, Richard Heaselgrave added: “We are delighted to welcome Aperol to the Australian Open partner family and I know our fans will enjoy the Club Aperol experience. It promises to be a perfect fit with the sociable atmosphere of our events.”
In addition to the Australian Open in January 2017, the partnership agreement also includes the Emirates Australian Open Series events – the Brisbane International presented by Suncorp, APIA International Sydney, Hopman Cup Perth, Hobart International and the World Tennis Challenge in Adelaide – where attendees will have the opportunity to try an Aperol Spritz.
