There is no doubt that coverage of the coronavirus and its implications for the pub industry will dominate our news coverage in the coming months.

The entire world is encountering something completely unknown; how we deal with this will not only be covered at length in news cycles, it will colour every decision, action and interaction we make for likely the next 3-6 months. Its socioeconomic effects will be felt for far longer than that.

Hospitality, and specifically the pub sector, is dealing with the immediate effects of the pandemic, and is likely to endure some real damage in the next few months. While many businesses will bear some form of damage, without doubt for some, that damage will be irreparable.

In this uncharted territory, we will endeavour not only to keep you up to date with what is happening throughout the industry, but to also bring you practical advice, stories of hope and resilience and support throughout the pub community.

We will also ensure that we cover the usual news stories of asset transactions, venue renovations and innovations implemented within hotels because the show must go on, and we must mitigate doom and gloom where we can.

Our top priority throughout all of this, of course, is the health and safety of all, and we hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe throughout all of this.

Onwards and upwards.
