The Australian Hotels Association Western Australia (AHA WA) has revealed the finalists for its 2019 Best Steak Sandwich competition.
A hugely popular competition throughout the state, the competition will see this year’s eight finalists battle it out with a live cook-off off at the AHA(WA) Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth on 14 and 15 May 2019.
This year’s eight finalists are:
COUNTRY WA FINALISTS
- Northcliffe Hotel & Motor Inn
- Settlers Tavern (Margaret River)
- The Bayview Bar (Bunbury)
- Endeavour Tavern (Lancelin)
PERTH FINALISTS
- High Wycombe Tavern
- C.Y. O’Connor Village Pub (Piara Waters)
- The Carlisle Hotel
- The Karalee on Preston (Como).
AHA WA CEO Bradley Woods said the competition was fierce, with an enormous number of votes being received from across the state to determine the top eight venues.
“This competition is now in its twelfth year and again we have seen the quality of the classic steak sandwich go from strength to strength and patrons have responded accordingly, with a record number of votes received,” Mr Woods said.
“The creativity that chefs put in to make the perfect steak sandwich is a cut above any other competition and there is no doubt the quality of this iconic menu item continues to improve.”
Last year’s winner was The Merrywell in Perth, (shown in image).
