ALH Hotels has once again teamed up with Rural Aid to help raise money for struggling Australian farmers throughout the month of February.

The ‘Parma for a Farmer’ fundraising initiative will see $1 from each chicken parmigiana sold donated to help fund water initiatives on farms, fodder for animals, mental health support as well as direct financial assistance for those struggling to make ends meet in regional Australia.

The fundraiser proved hugely successful last year, and ALH Hotels General Manager Lukas McKay says that this year will see more than 300 ALH Hotels right across the country taking part.

“Last year, we were able to raise $113,505 to support farmers affected by natural disasters, and we hope to build on this success and once again rally Aussies to support farming communities who need our support now as much as ever,” he said.

“Pubs serve as the lifeblood of local and regional communities, playing an invaluable role in bringing people together.

“The chicken parma is our top selling food-item across ALH Hotels and we hope the funds raised can make a real impact.

“So, whether you’re enjoying it with a refreshing pale ale, or sharing the moment with family, make it your number one choice throughout the month of February.

“We are also very grateful to our suppliers who have started us out with an incredibly generous $50,000 donation.”

The 113,505 parmigiana’s sold across ALH Hotels last February helped Rural Aid support farmers affected by natural disasters and this year’s funds will continue to address the pressing needs farmers face.

CEO of Rural Aid, John Warlters, said: “These donations make a significant impact, contributing to the well-being and sustainability of rural areas across Australia.

“Farmers are stoic characters and continue to battle the elements on a daily basis. This much needed support will provide a vital lifeline to help them continue to do what they do best.

“We appreciate ALH’s ongoing commitment through the Parma for a Farmer campaign and welcome every purchase of a classic parma for this important cause.”
