The Brigade Rooftop and Brigade Lounge will be opening for trade today, after an extensive delay.

Bayfields Hotels did a major renovation of the first floor and the roof of the Light Brigade Hotel earlier in the year, with the Brigade Lounge and Brigade Rooftop both being completed in early June this year.

However a delay with the extension of the liquor license from Liquor & Gaming NSW has meant that the two areas have remain unused for the last for months. Happily, the approval has now gone through, and Bayfields Hotels can now begin operating what will become coveted spaces in eastern Sydney – with views of the CBD – especially in the warmer weather.

“It has been one of Sydney’s most anticipated bar launches and we are thrilled to say we are finally open, just as Sydney heats up,” said Kaine Bayfield, chief operating officer of Bayfield Hotels.

The aesthetics for both the Rooftop and Lounge were handled by SJB Interiors, with specific looks for created for both levels.

“The Brigade Lounge is about discovery. We have opened up the space with seductive arches of varying sizes so that on arrival the visitor has glimpses through to the rooms beyond,” explained Jonathan Richards, director at SJB. “By contrast the Brigade Rooftop is all about full exposure. We have designed a circular bar that fans around the terrace to enable the visitor full access to the horizon”.

The ground floor remains a haven for sports lovers, and has been nominated for Best Sporting Venue at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards 2016.
