Bradley Woods, CEO of AHA WA, joined the board of Tourism Australia this week.
With board members Tony South and Andrew Fairley retiring, Woods has taken over one of the board positions alongside David Sargeant, CEO and managing director of Event Hospitality and Entertainment.
The Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, lauded Woods’ accomplishments promoting tourism in Western Australia.
“For 25 years Bradley Woods has been one of Australia’s leading advocates for the hotel, hospitality and tourism industry. I am pleased to welcome him to the Board as one of two new Directors.”
Woods took to Twitter to state that he was “honoured” to join Tourism Australia’s board.

Scott Leach, national president of the Australian Hotels Association, passed on his congratulations to Woods.
“I welcome the appointment of Bradley Woods to the Tourism Australia Board of Directors.
“Bradley is currently on the national board of Tourism Accommodation Australia as well as being the CEO of AHA WA – he is an experienced and respected operator with an encyclopedic knowledge of the tourism industry. I have no doubt he will be a great addition to the Tourism Australia Board.”
As the only Western Australian on the board, Woods intends to represent the interests of the state at Tourism Australia.
“I am very proud to have been given this opportunity to join the Board of Tourism Australia. My appointment will ensure representation of West Australian interests on the board for the first time in 4 years.
“Tourism has the potential to be a greater generator of economic activity and job creation but it requires a long-term strategic approach. I look forward to being an active contributor to the development of a tourism strategy that will boost visitation to Australia, and Western Australia.”
