After the launch of two successful collaborative ventures, BrewDog and Australian Venue Co (AVC) have joined forces once again for the opening of BrewDog Perth.

Opening its doors to the public today, BrewDog Perth is the product of an ongoing partnership between one of Australia’s leading pub operators, AVC, and global craft beer bar operators BrewDog.

Transforming what was once a chocolate factory and coffee roastery on the former Gordon Street Garage site, the $3m project has capacity for 600 patrons, sitting just 550m from Perth Arena. The new venue houses two bars and an open-air beer garden with state-of-the-art screens for sports-watching experiences.

Joel Woolfrey, BrewDog Perth venue manager, spoke proudly about the new venue: “We think BrewDog is a perfect fit for Perth, bringing a leading international brand to Perth, delivered by local teams.

“BrewDog Perth brings the best of BrewDog, like the 50 per cent plant-based menu and BrewDog beer, while also championing local partners on our menu like Mary Street Bakery, Mondo, Love Buds and Pezzano, and for drinks, Rocky Ridge, Boston Brewery, Bright Tank and Funk Cider.”

Honouring the heritage of the site, the fit-out incorporates BrewDog’s classic industrial style paired with the original Blue Seal chocolate factory signage, bright neon lighting, leather seating, and a separate lounge with arcade games.

“Every BrewDog has a unique design, and BrewDog Perth really celebrates the character and heritage of the Gordon Street location. It continues to build on the rich heritage of Perth and the Gordon Street site to create something that feels unmistakably Perth,” added Woolfrey.

On the drinks front, the venue offers 20 taps of craft beer, including a line up of Brisbane-brewed BrewDog beers fresh from the solar-powered Murrarie brewery, complemented by guest beer tap takeovers and collaborations with local breweries.

Food-wise, the menu caters to a variety of dietary requirements, including dishes such as burgers, wings, pizzas, bowls and salads.

As the fifth Australian BrewDog bar, BrewDog Perth joins venues in Melbourne and Sydney, both of which are joint ventures with AVC, and BrewDog’s two independent Brisbane venues.

Of the three collaborative venues with BrewDog, BrewDog Perth is the first to open since the sale of AVC from KKR to Hong Kong-based alternative investment firm PAG.

According to James Watt, CEO and co-founder of BrewDog, Australia is an increasingly important market for the business as it expands its operations.

“Australia is one of the most exciting craft beer markets in the world, and so we are thrilled to be expanding our unique bar experience to the people of Perth.”
