Urban Purveyor Group (UPG) continues its rapid expansion, with the announcement that a Munich Brauhaus will open in the South Bank precinct of Brisbane this summer.

The Brisbane venue will be the latest in the expansion of the Munich Brauhaus brand, joining the flagship venue in Melbourne, and the venue that was launched in Sydney earlier this year, in UPG’s former Lowenbrau site.

The Brisbane Brauhaus will be situated within the heritage-listed Allgas building in Stanley Street Plaza, close to the Grand Arbour walkway and much-visited Streets Beach. The Munich Brauhaus will have a 750 pax capacity over three floors and five bars – including a 150-seat rooftop bar and 250-seat beer garden.

Munich Brauhaus in South Bank will offer an authentic Bavarian bier hall experience with plenty of imported beers served in one-litre steins. It will also offer the Crafty Bavarian range of beers made by Urban Brewing Co., a division of UPG.

CEO of UPG, Thomas Pash, said that the opening of the third Munich Brauhaus was a testament to the popularity of its two predecessors in Melbourne and Sydney, and that it would bring a point of difference to the South Bank hospitality scene.

“Munich Brauhaus is a one of a kind experience, bringing a true Bavarian party atmosphere that isn’t replicated anywhere else and Brisbane’s buzzing South Bank is a fabulous destination to include in our rapidly expanding geographic footprint.”

Pash also noted that the Munich Brauhaus brand is one that UPG continue to make a staple of, especially after the relaunch of the Sydney venue, and the development of the Crafty Bavarian beer range.

“Munich Brauhaus is the big Bavarian bier hall that we want to take forward as one of our key brands and bringing it to The Rocks in February was a strategic move that is already paying off.

“Customers love the Munich-style celebrations, live Bavarian bands and a classic menu that runs alongside everyday favourites such as schnitzels, haus-made sausages, burgers, hotdogs, wraps and salads.”

He continued: “Munich Brauhaus The Rocks debuted just after Urban Brewing Co., a division of Urban Purveyor Group, launched its range of Crafty Bavarian house-brewed beers into our Bavarian restaurants.

“It was perfect timing. Demand was strong for our craft beers from the onset, and continues to be so, while the makeover of the venue was well received by our regular customers and continues to attract new patrons.

The extended seating, larger bar, numerous TVs and unrivalled range of imported beers make it a great place to hang out after work and party into the night, and the weekend.”
