Paul Lambert, General Manager of Sales and Trade Marketing at Endeavour Brewing Co, told TheShout the thinking behind the offer.
“We just want to help venues out,” he said.
“As everything is starting to reopen, we always wanted to help in the best way we could. That was giving them some financial support, because as venues reopen their doors I think it’s the most expensive time.
“The whole idea of providing these kegs is to help venues raise some revenue. There’s a lot of staff, individuals that that weren’t eligible for JobKeeper, unfortunately, and we wanted to help venues support their staff, because at the end of the day, the more venues that are open the healthier the industry we’re going to have as we as we come out of this.”
The offer is open to all Sydney metropolitan venues, large or small and Lambert said that one keg equates to 115 schooners, which on average equates to around $950.
He added: “One individual keg might not make the world of difference, but I hope this might inspire other suppliers, whether it be wine, beer, spirits to provide venues with as much support as they can. To have as many venues as we can back up and running so we can have a healthy and vibrant industry.
“This is industry is all about helping each other out and saying ‘guys we are help to help’ and I think that should be coming from all suppliers.”
