Online sales are predicted to account for 15 to 20 per cent of the food and beverage sector’s overall sales by 2025 — a potential tenfold increase over 2016, according to strategy consulting firm LEK Consulting.
With that in mind, this October’s Drinks Innovation Summit will host a session on e-commerce in the alcohol sector, featuring some of the biggest names in drinks retail and internet sales.
Cathi Scarce, Acting CEO, Liquor, Coles Group, Scott Ni, Senior Director of Alibaba Group, Justin Dry, CEO of Vinomofo, and Andy Williamson, founder of BoozeBud will discuss how to reach, engage with and meet the demands of today’s consumer through the internet, offering advice to suppliers and retailers on growing their e-commerce sales and explaining how to get started selling online.
The discussion will be chaired by Nathan Bush, founder of 12HIGH and one of the country’s leading e-commerce and digital strategists. 12HIGH were engaged by Stone & Wood to develop a strategy for the brewer’s e-commerce business.
The Drinks Innovation Summit takes place on Tuesday 29 October at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sydney.
The one-day conference aimed at liquor suppliers and marketers, as well as retailers and publicans, focuses on advances in technology revolutionising the way liquor is produced, marketed, sold and consumed in Australia and across the globe.
Experts in artificial intelligence, augmented reality, smart packaging, Big Data, e-commerce and social media marketing will deliver a series of presentations and take part in panel discussions.
There will also be a special keynote looking at China’s ‘New Retail’ revolution and what Australian suppliers and marketers can learn from it.
The event is produced by Food & Beverage Media, owner of TheShout, National Liquor News and Australian Hotelier, in collaboration with Retail Drinks Australia.
Early bird tickets (available until 7 October) are priced at $495 ex-GST and further discounts are available for groups.
