Merivale has outlined its WorldPride and Mardi Gras celebrations, hosting more than 40 events across its venues. These will include drag brunches, ‘iconic lunches’, dog shows, rooftop parties, and the flagship Pride Plane experience.

Pride Plane is a rainbow Sydney Seaplane, that will take guests between Rose Bay and Newport, where they’ll head on to Bert’s Bar & Brasserie for a long lunch. Prior to departure, guests will be served a ‘Watermelon Sugar’ Absolut cocktail, before taking in the views from the plane, and enjoying a four-course meal at the venue.

Justin Hemmes, Merivale CEO said he was looking forward to February.

“Mardi Gras ignites and unites Sydney in festivity, colour and community spirit; it’s an integral part of our city’s culture and identity.

“We’re incredibly thrilled at the opportunity for our beautiful harbour city to host WorldPride in 2023. Sydney is without doubt the most wonderful backdrop for this enormously exciting and inclusive festival. To celebrate, we’ve gone all out with a line-up of 40+ events; it’s going to be a hugely fun and special few weeks!”

The Alex in Alexandria is hosting House of Homes, also featuring Khoury and the House of Silky. Long-running Merivale Mardi Gras events will also return for 2023, including: Vic on the Pardi Gras, the Beresford Dog Show, and drag brunches at The Beresford, Coogee Rooftop, Queen Chow Enmore, Ivy Pool Club and The Paddington.
