National pub group Australian Venue Co. (AVC) has reopened two community pubs in Queensland and South Australia following multimillion-dollar renovations.

Reopened last week, the Browns Plains Hotel in Queensland has undergone a $1.5 million renovation turning it into a family friendly hub with a classic bistro.

Having served the local community since 1976, the pub has been fitted with new finishes and furniture, as well as a revamped outdoor terrace designed for all-year-round al-fresco drinking and dining, and a new children’s play area.

Developing a refreshed bistro menu, Executive Chef Dylan Kemp has brought some new flavours to Queensland pub classics. The new menu brings amazing value to customers with a selection of burgers, steaks, seafood and a ‘Parmigeddon’ section for variations of the chicken parmigiana.

Browns Plains Hotel

“Browns Plain Hotel has been a favourite watering hole for locals for many decades and now the pub has been refreshed, establishing it as a fresh destination for everyone of all ages,” said Venue Manager Sarah Kelly.

“Whether it’s drinks and snacks after work, date night, gathering with friends, mates catching up over some sport or long family lunches, we have a spot for everyone at Browns Plains Hotel. We can’t wait to welcome our locals back through the doors.”

Browns Plains Hotel has now reopened to guests, with locals invited to the celebratory launch weekend on Friday 1 to Sunday 3 September where they can enjoy free food tastings, live music, children’s entertainment and giveaways.

In Pennington, South Australia, AVC has also reopened the Grand Junction Tavern following a $2 million renovation. Creating Pennington’s new destination hub for fans of sports and racing, the Bistro & Sports Bar has expanded into an open plan space complete with new finishes.

Along with the new TV feature wall and furniture, comes the revamped food menu pairing Australian pub classics with South-East Asian feature dishes, including banh mi and a Vietnamese-style noodle bowl.

Grand Junction Tavern

“The Grand Junction Tavern has always been a favourite amongst the local community and the new look has created a modern dining and drinking destination for our neighbours and visitors to the area,” said Venue Manager Thi Tran.

“Locals will love our delicious Aussie and South-East Asian dining offering, and nobody will miss any sporting action in our new Sports Bar space.”

A welcome weekend will take place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 August, giving locals the chance to celebrate with weekend specials, free food and giveaways.
